Caye Caulker is home to muralist  Armando "Rootsman" Rivera, among other talented artists on the island. On a visit in September we had the pleasure of experiencing his new interactive mural at The Dive House. The floating blue morpho wings on the front entrance mural creates a perfect photo opportunity for passersby.

There are  lavender flowers spilling down from the upper floor of the building flanking the multiple scenes of the primarily black, white mural with blue accents. Then there are delicate yellow flowers framing the bottom of the murals in beds spanning walls of the building facing the sea. The Giant tropical plants including monsteras and ferns grace the white walls in bold black paint - like a vast ink drawing. This spectacularly unique murals wraps around the corner inviting you towards the waterfront on the west side of the island approaching the tarpon dock and sting rays.

“The first thing is to look within. And stay. Stay. How would you say stay on it. Because you always gonna have this support now. It’s you can’t make that stop your inspiration. You have to use it towards your benefit.” -"Rootsman" in a Greater Belize Media interview
